 After receiving the news he has a life threatening disease A shuts him self off from the world. Ignoring the council’s letters warning of the demolition of the flats above, A remains trapped below the rubble in his basement apartment anticipating the collapse of his ceiling. Today is to be the last day of A’s life, it also happens to be his birthday.

Bootworks Theatre collective embark on their most surreal adventure yet … a reworking of Dali and Bunuel’s masterpiece; Un Chein Andalou, an eyeball slicing, horse-dragging treat of puppetry & Physical theatre Un Boite Andalou.

Breaking News is a performance by Theatre Collective Vague At Best. It presents a anarchistic aproach to a performance based around of political satire. It is a poststructural representation of the portrayal of today’s Media and political stance in Britain. Inspired by a cultural Marxism approach Breaking News deconstructs the ideals of political correctness in a world of apathy, capitalism and conspiracies.

With in a non-linear narrative, Breaking News intertextualised real news with controversial ‘news reports’ and radio shows, an office chair dance and the rape of a teddy bear. Breaking News challenges the public’s perception of information.
