Breaking News is a performance by Theatre Collective Vague At Best. It presents a anarchistic aproach to a performance based around of political satire. It is a poststructural representation of the portrayal of today’s Media and political stance in Britain. Inspired by a cultural Marxism approach Breaking News deconstructs the ideals of political correctness in a world of apathy, capitalism and conspiracies.

With in a non-linear narrative, Breaking News intertextualised real news with controversial ‘news reports’ and radio shows, an office chair dance and the rape of a teddy bear. Breaking News challenges the public’s perception of information.

It was Performed  at the Showroom Theatre (Chichester University)@ 7:30pm May14th ‘08.
